The Institute of Applied Mathematics in Science and Engineering (IMACI), active since December 2006, is a research centre belonging to the University of Castilla–La Mancha. Its members are professors and researchers from the UCLM working in nine different schools of the University and four different areas of knowledge:| | | Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Operations Research, Graphics in Engineering and Business Management. | The main goals of the institute are:
Study, either theoretical or by numerical simulation, of mathematical models or other abstract representations of interest to other sciences or technological problems.
Application of mathematical models in various fields of knowledge, both fundamental and applied, when they require a significant mathematical apparatus.
By its own interdisciplinary nature, IMACI is open to any aspect of knowledge with a relevant mathematical contents, where mathematics and statistics may contribute to the scientific or technological knowledge, especially to the support of and collaboration with research groups, academic institutions and companies that require some form or cooperation regarding mathematics, statistics or simulation. | |
